We are realising our long-held dream of moving into Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. In partnership with the Aujan family, MORE is refurbishing the existing Stanley & Livingstone, with the aim to launch the property as the area’s first boutique hotel by September 2018.

“It’s beauty that captures your attention – personality that captures your heart” – Oscar Wilde

The essence of the reinvented Stanley & Livingstone is ‘intrinsically historic’. Inspired by a contemporary take on colonial style, its character will be classic – with a sense of adventure. While honouring the hotel’s rich heritage, our bold approach to its updated design will play with natural light and quirky features to create spaces that are engaging and inspiring.

This is a great family destination, and our family welcomes yours! Make yourselves at home in one of two sets of interleading Luxury Suites, where each suite can be configured as triple room to accommodate 2 adults and 1 child. Twelve more double/twin Luxury Suites are ideal for couples, friends and solo guests seeking ‘me time’.

Up at the main lodge, our Private Travel Desk is on hand to help tailor your stay to exactly what you’d like to experience by arranging your activities on and off the property. While in-room spa treatments will ease you into your days or reinvigorate you on hot afternoons, along with wallowing in the swimming pool, there is much to experience in between…

The hotel is intended to be a pause on an itinerary of spectacular Southern African places and experiences, and is set within the 2 500-hectare (6 200-acre) Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve. It’s land safaris offer guests a unique experience, with the chance to see all of the Big Five – including the rare and endangered black rhino. Water safaris are operated too, and present an entirely different game-viewing experience of the reserve’s semiaquatic species, including crocodile and hippo.

The wildlife here is prolific, and guests won’t have to venture far to also spot giraffe, zebra, antelope, and numerous birds. Sipping afternoon spritzers on the hotel’s dining room terrace, while you watch the animals come down to the waterhole, is something of an Into Africa experience. Yet, amid this unspoilt wilderness, you’ll only be 20 minutes from the centre of Victoria Falls town and just 10 minutes from the Victoria Falls – one of Southern Africa’s most popular attractions.

Culture vultures, nature enthusiasts, adrenaline junkies and all guests in between will find something to inspire them. Village tours introduce you to the local people and their way of life; a tour of Victoria Falls leads you through riverine forest right to this natural wonder; while helicopter flips, a gorge swing and white-water rafting are just some of the more thrilling ways to experience the mighty Zambezi and its falls.

The best time to visit the falls is… anytime! The last months of the summer rainy season are when the falls reach their zenith, but during the dry winter months, without the dense spray from the falls, visitors are afforded a much clearer view. The area is also a year-round safari destination – with hot summers and mild winters, its wildlife is non-migratory.

It all might seem quite exotic, but getting here is straightforward. Flights from some of South Africa’s main cities – including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Nelspruit – directly to Victoria Falls International Airport operate on a daily basis, and there will be a complimentary shuttle waiting to bring you to our Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel.

Holidays are meant to be a respite, but their planning can add to your everyday stressors. So if the logistics are making you at all nervous, contact one of our Private Travel experts. They’ll gladly create a bespoke Southern African itinerary, including Stanley & Livingstone, for you, and ensure that you are well taken care of along your journey.

We can’t wait to see you in 2018. Let the adventure begin!
